40-hour program with courses in: Introduction to Graduate
Study, Applied Linguistics, Pedagogical Grammar,
Second Language Acquisition, Methods, Curriculum and
Materials, Cross-Cultural Issues, Testing, Contrastive Analysis,
plus a required 2-semester internship in the English Language
Institute. Each intern is assigned a mentor during the intern-
ship period. After completing the core courses, the student
sits for a tools exam, and at the end of the program students
submit a portfolio of their work plus may sit for a
comprehensive exam depending on their performance in the
tools exam.
